I don’t really like most other people, as a result I’ve always been relatively anti-social. I have lived alone most of my life, and I enjoy it. There are things, however, that can make intimidating to live alone. For this reason, I’ve curated a list of items which are all readily available on Amazon that will make living alone an even more comfortable experience.

When you live alone, Security can be a big concern.

The biggest fear people have about living alone is that they might not be safe. We live in a world that can be frightening at times, a world were even the safest of areas still have crime. A security system is a good idea for any home or apartment, but even more so for those who live alone. Here’s a few product ideas that will give you some much needed extra security.

It’s perfect for those who own their own home, and if you upgrade to the Pro model it can be installed in a rental unit without damage to the property. This means no extra dealings that pesky landlord.

If you worry that the front door to your home might not be as secure as you would like, why not install a smart lock? There’s a ton of options to choose from. Some have keypads, others utilize Bluetooth, but my favorite come complete with biometrics. A comfortable space is essential.

One of the best things about living alone is that your home entirely your own to style. Wether your into modern, traditional, or eclectic decor, you want to be comfortable and functional when it comes to furnishing your space.

The Ashley Zella Sectional

If you’re anything like me, you spend a lot of your time at home on the couch. Watching movies, reading books, and lets be honest — sometimes even eating dinner. Aside from your mattress, the couch is probably the most used piece of furniture in your home. It’s also the center of your living room decor. That’s why I chose the Ashley Zella to feature. It’s comfortable, it comes in several neutral colors, and it will fit right in with almost any style preference.

A Smart TV

LG Smart TV

With a smart TV there’s no need for more components and extra wires hanging down from your television. You only have one remote to worry about, and no need to purchase more HDMI cables. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu will be available with the click of a button on your LG 55-Inch 4K Smart TV.

There are a ton of models out there when it comes to television sets, but I’ve had this particular model for almost a year. The webOS is intuitive and includes a ton of free content. One of my favorite things is that when updates run, they are non-invasive and have yet to interfere with my ability to watch my content right away. It may not have every feature on the market today, but the picture quality is amazing and it has everything you need to enjoy your favorite shows.

If your looking for a model that’s a little more supped up, give these a look:

A dedicated space for Productivity.

When you live alone you are truly the master of your free time. This freedom is probably the best thing about being by yourself, but it can be tempting to spend all that free time on the couch with a bag of popcorn. Creating a space that’s dedicated to productivity can encourage you to meet your goals.

A Desk with Storage

Monarch Specialties Hollow-Core Left or Right Facing Corner Desk

A good desk is the cornerstone of the productivity space. A dedicated space to get things done. Wether its bills, business, or blogging — a good desk is essential. I recommend one with some storage, like one pictured above from Monarch Specialties, to help keep your space organized and your desktop clutter free.

A Comfortable Desk Chair

YAMASORO Leather Memory Foam Office Chair

No workspace is complete without a comfortable desk chair. After all, how much time are you going to want to spend at a desk if you’re uncomfortable? This Leather Office Chair by Yamasoro boasts memory foam as well as adjustable lumbar support to help you stay productive for longer.

  1. I love this, you are right security is a major concern for persons who live alone. Someone broke into my apartment some years ago and even though I moved to a more secure location, the paranoia is still real.

    1. I know! I’m sorry that happened to you. I live in a pretty safe area, but my car has still been broken into several times. You can never be too careful, security is so important.
