Blogtober Day 5: Top 5 Favorite Movies

I’ve spent the last 4 days writing about some heavy topics. It’s been cathartic, but also a little exhausting. So this weekend I’m going to keep my Blogtober posts on the lighter side. Keeping in theme with opening up about myself, for Blogtober Day 5, I’m going to give you my Top 5 Favorite Movies. Some of these will be franchises because frankly, narrowing it down to 5 would just not be possible.

5. The Big Lebowski

It’s a cult classic, and Jeff Bridges is amazing. If you haven’t seen it before, you need to watch this movie. It has it all, a rug that’s been peed on, The Dude, Mistaken Identity, John Goodman, and Nihilists. Oh, and we can’t forget Sam Elliot and Bowling.

4. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

Bass-Player falls in love and has to battle the Ex-Boyfriends of his new love interest. The movie is reminiscent of a video game, with boss battles and falling coins. It’s a lot of fun to watch, has great dialogue, and Michael Cera and Aubrey Plaza are endlessly entertaining.

3. The Lord of The Rings

I’m including all of the LOTR movies and The Hobbit on this one. The hobbit was one of the first books my dad read to me when I was little, and I got really into LOTR later on. I love fantasy novels, and the Lord of the Rings movies are some of the best film adaptations out there in my opinion.

2. Harry Potter

What can I say? I’m a PotterHead. I was deep into the Harry Potter fandom before the movies ever came out. In a lot of cases, I hate movies where I’ve read the books because the movie just doesn’t do the book justice. I think a great job was done with the HP movies, however, and I love them. They’re great to watch by myself or with my family, and there’s such a good message behind them.

1.Reservoir Dogs

I’m obsessed with Quentin Tarantino. The dialogue in his movies is smart, funny, dark, and relevant. Reservoir dogs is my favorite of his films and my all-time favorite movie. It’s essentially a robbery gone wrong, but the dialogue and banter are what makes the movie great.

What do you think?

What are your top 5 favorite movies? Have you seen these before, or do you plan to watch them? Let me know in the comments.

  1. The only movie you have that I’ve seen is Harry Potter but I’ve heard great things about Lord of The Rings!
